Video – Herculez Gomez expects McKennie to recover ahead of World Cup

After the trip to Lecce, Weston McKennie joined Juve’s ever-increasing injury list. The midfielder should be out for a few weeks, making him a major doubt for his team’s World Cup opener against Wales on November 21.

Futbol Americas presenter Sebastián Salazar has asked Hérculez Gómez to name a replacement for the Juventus midfielder, but the former USMNT star believes the 24-year-old is a “physical phenomenon of nature” who will achieve recover from his injury sooner than expected.

Gomez also feels that there is no similar replacement for McKennie on the US national team, although Brenden Aaronson would be the best choice.
