Bellingham could ‘go to Liverpool as early as January’

Liverpool are in a long line of potential suitors for Jude Bellingham and it appears a deal could be completed quickly for the England international, but the player may have some doubts at Anfield.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, British super-agent Haydn Dodge said: “It’s no secret: Liverpool are looking for Jude Bellingham, but although he fancied the move a while ago, he now has some doubts.

“He could still go to Liverpool in January, but Real Madrid are certainly doing everything they can to make it difficult for Jurgen Klopp.”

With Real Madrid and us meeting in the Champions League round of 16, it looks like there may be an even bigger battle off the pitch, before we meet in February.

The 19-year-old already has 20 appearances, nine goals and two assists for Borussia Dortmund this season and it seems like with each passing day he sees another club ready to make a big push to lure him away from Signal Iduna Park.

However, it is far from ideal to see that we are competing with Carlo Ancelotti’s side for this player, as we know the financial power that the La Liga club possess.

Having lost Aurelien Tchouameni in the summer to Los Blancos, he could really set us up to lose the final in Paris, two major transfer targets and another knockout tie for them, all in the space of nine months.

We will have to hope that Jurgen Klopp’s transfer plans are endorsed, either by new and/or current owners, and that he can start building a team that will take us to the top of the Premier League once again.

After a long World Cup in Qatar, the transfer talk will heat up again with the Birmingham-born teenager and it’s fair to assume we’ll be in the thick of it.
