Potter confirmed that Chilwell would undergo a scan on Friday afternoon and that the extent of the injury would be known by the next day at the latest. The Chelsea manager revealed that Chilwell is doing well and that the full-back is aware of the injury.

“He’s going to get a scan later this afternoon,” Potter said. [via Football.London]. We’ll find out then or tomorrow. He feels good, he is aware of the injury, we have to let the swelling subside and we will know more after that.”

“I wouldn’t say he fears the worst. Until we get the scan, it’s hard to say,” Potter said when asked if Chilwell fears the worst. “At the moment, we are hopeful and keep our fingers crossed. It’s disappointing, of course.

Meanwhile, Potter also said he doesn’t think goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga will be able to return to action for Chelsea before the World Cup. The Spaniard suffered a foot injury during Chelsea’s 4-1 loss to Brighton.
